HOW DO I HELP KIDS & YOUTH (and grown-ups) BURN FOR GOD & Flow in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit ?????
Well as listed in 1 Corinthians 12: 7-11......we know that........
".....to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. "
So.... if we teach folks how to carry God's anointing, flow in the Spirit AND make sure that we do the same....God will be able to use all of us for HIS PURPOSES. We will be able to IMPACT our lost and dying world. We all need Jesus....
So what can we do:
BURN Yourself
We really believe that good resources are key & partnering with anointed ministries is critical BUT
NOTHING REPLACES THE PRESENCE OF GOD, it is sooo sweet
NOTHING REPLACES THE TIME WE SEEK HIS FACE and ASK HIM what to do NEXT!
When He directs what we do...even the simplest lesson is more effective.
Teach 'em How to Pray
We try to give kids a chance to get the wiggles out and try to relax in prayer long enough for God to touch them at a deeper level.
Many prayer resources like "Praying the Bible" by Wesley and Stacey Campbell are sooo anointed.
Somehow reading the bible aloud invites the presence of God in.
When folks actually feel God's anointing and presence....there is nothing like it! It is addictive.
When they realize they can really impact the world and help change things by partnering with God and praying His heart, it means alot to them.
Teach 'em How to Listen
Perhaps the most exciting and remarkable prayer time for us is when kids, youth and even us adults learn and practice how to Hear God talking to us!!!!!!!!!!! When something we have heard from God is confirmed, it is a real faith booster.
In a safe practice environment it is cool to learn how & practice discerning God's voice.
It amazes me how easily and quickly young people can learn to discern the voice of God. No one has taught them that they can't so when He speaks.......they listen! Awesome! We have a GOD who is INTERACTIVE!
Teach 'em How to Share
Sharing the good news we have about Jesus dying for all our sins is critical for all of us.
If we just keep it to ourselves.....and not share we would not be following God's heart. Giving away the Father's Love is the best.
In fact, when basic evangelism is coupled with a message (word of knowledge) that you hear from God for that person.....you are more likely to have their attention! God may tell you about them or even tell you HOW to specifically reach the person.

Kidsinministry.org On this site Becky Fisher even shares a sample lesson of their curriculum called "Hearing God's Voice" that instructs in a step-by-step manner. It is designed so anyone can use the manual even if they have not yet developed personal skills in hearing God. These skills can then be used to reach others and share with them the love of Jesus Christ our Lord.
